In terms of personalized customization and small batch production, integrating various rapid processes has more advantages than traditional processes, both in terms of processing costs and processing cycles. Especially in the repair or reprocessing of expired parts after long-term use in after-sales service; And the repair or restoration caused by the failure of a single component in the assembly.

 

The development of manufacturing methods has gone through three stages: equal material manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, and additive manufacturing.

 

(1) Equal material manufacturing, refers to the production and manufacturing of products through casting, forging, welding, and other methods, with the material weight remaining basically unchanged, and has a history of more than 3000 years.

(2) Subtractive manufacturing, refers to the use of equipment such as turning, milling, planing, and grinding to cut materials into their designed shapes after the Industrial Revolution, with a history of over 300 years.

(3) Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, refers to the use of technologies such as photopolymerization, selective laser sintering, and melt stacking to gradually accumulate materials into the desired shape.

Whether it is equal material manufacturing or subtractive manufacturing, in the industrial manufacturing process, product design is influenced and limited by manufacturing processes. Designers cannot freely unleash their imagination and pursue the most ideal product effect. With the perfect combination of 3D printing technology and traditional craftsmanship, industrial manufacturing has become increasingly simple and efficient;

Requiring smooth surface, silk screen printing, product quality close to injection molded parts, and delivery time only 15days

● Production difficulties:

The quantity of products is small, it is not cost-effective to open metal molds, but customers require quality close to injection molded parts

● Quantity: 60pcs

● Material: ABS

● Process: Vacuum casting process

Our Production solution:

 

(1) Quantity 60pcs, due to the small quantity requirement, and tight delivery time, if we use traditional production methods to open metal molds, the cost will be too high for the customer and delivery time is at least 40days

 

(2) And the customer requires that the strength and appearance of the product achieve the effect of injection molding.

 

(3)  Based on the above requirements, we have considered vacuum casti

ng processes with ABS material (it can create simple molds, with very low cost and no products MOQ), delivery time only need 14days, and the surface with polished and painted to perfectly match the customer's needs

● Customer requirements:

Customer no drawings, but provides samples,need flame-retardant materials with high dimensional accuracy, and delivery after assembly

● Production difficulties:

Need make 3D drawing according to the sample. Product size is relatively large and prone to deformation, which affects the assembly status. The plug-in board is too thick to be directly produced

● Quantity: 200 sets (200pcs bases+16800pcs plug-in boards)

● Material: Flame-retardant ABS

● Process: Injection molding process

● Size: 420*420*380mm

Our Production solution:

 

(1) Based on the samples provided by the customer, draw a 3D drawing through reverse scanning

 

(2) Make samples through 3D printing for customer confirmation

 

(3) The plug-in board is too thick to be produced directly. It can be split into two pieces and made into thin-walled parts for production, and then ultrasonically welded together

 

(4) For small batch products, we recommend two processes: metal mold injection molding and vacuum coating. After sample testing of both processes and cost considerations, the final customer chose to do metal mold injection molding

Need Lightweight and high-strength, corrosion-resistant, good fatigue resistance, environmentally friendly

Production difficulties:

The material is relatively hard and difficult to process, and it is prone to bursting during the processing

Our Production solution:

 

(1) Due to the limited quantity requirement, if the mold is opened according to the traditional production method, the cost is too high for the customer

 

(2) The customer requires the strength of the product to reach the effect of metal, and the material can only be plastic, which requires high corrosion resistance and precision requirements. 

 

 

(3) Based on the above requirements, we took samples of several materials at the same time and integrated customer needs. Finally, recommended carbon fiber materials and adopted CNC machining technology. This not only saves a lot of costs and production time without the need for mold making, but also perfectly meets product performance requirements

Technical Solution:

In terms of molds, the waterway system is one of the important factors affecting the quality of mold products. A superior waterway system can shorten the product molding cycle and improve product yield.

But currently, waterways are mainly manufactured by machining processes such as milling machines, which cannot process curved waterways and cannot cover mold cavities.
