Sheet metal Fabrication
How does Sheet metal processing work?
Precision sheet metal processing is the use of equipped molds (general or specialized molds) to bend cold metal sheets into various geometric cross-sectional shapes of workpieces, which are laser cut, polished, and polished to become precision sheet metal processing parts. Widely used in sheet metal processing in industries such as automobiles, aircraft manufacturing, light industry, shipbuilding, containers, elevators, and railway vehicles.
Advantages of Sheet metal processing:
Fast processing speed, beautiful surface with corner treatment, high strength, and accurate dimensions.
What materials can you choose for Sheet metal processing?
Sheet metal processing involves the processing of sheet metal chassis, server cabinets for sheet metal parts, as well as the internal structure and casing of various mechanical equipment. It mainly obtains the required appearance based on the processing of metal plates. Many devices in daily life are processed in this way, such as bank registration machines, automatic teller machines, common street products such as vending machines, and the main chassis of computers and monitors. The following are common metal plates in sheet metal processing.
1.Plain Cold Rolled Steel Plate (SPCC).
SPCC is a thick steel plate, pipe, or sheet with a specified wall thickness that is continuously cold rolled by a cold rolling mill. Without safety protection on the surface, it is easy to oxidize and rust. Therefore, safety protection such as spraying and electroplating processes should be carried out before application.
2.Galvanized steel plate. There are two types of galvanized steel plates:
1).electro galvanized steel plate (SECC). Thick steel plates are made using degreasing, acid pickling and passivation, electroplating processes, and various post-treatment processes, which have sheet metal processing properties, excellent corrosion resistance, and decorative artistic appearance. Electrogalvanized steel plates are widely used in the processing of computer sheet metal chassis.
2). hot-dip galvanized steel plate (SGCC), which refers to the semi-finished product processing after hot stamping, pickling, passivation, or cold rolling. By cleaning and quenching, the steel plate is immersed in a dissolved zinc bath with an ambient temperature of about 460 ° C, embedded with a zinc layer, and then treated in a timely manner and chemically. SGCC raw materials are harder than SECC materials, with poor plasticity (designed to prevent deep drawing), thick zinc layer, and poor arc welding ability.
3. Stainless steel.
Stainless steel plates have excellent physical properties, and different components of stainless steel can achieve different characteristics, making them widely used in the field of sheet metal processing.
How to control quality when Sheet metal processing?
1. Choose different processing techniques based on the customer's product, and indicate common problems in the engineering drawings, such as the inability to scratch the surface of sheet metal parts.
2. The drawings drawn by the production technicians will be inspected by another production technician. After the inspection is completed, sign and confirm before sending it to the production workshop
3. The first sample to be cut will undergo a comprehensive inspection. During mass production, the first sample of all sheet metal parts can only be produced in bulk after reaching the standard.
4. When bending, the bending direction and specifications should be determined, and gradually mass production after confirmation. It should be retested when disassembling and replacing operators or replacing mold shells.
